We asked the Bright Media team to share some examples of their favourite Christmas campaigns of all time
1. Holidays Are Coming – Coca Cola
Well, of course! This list just wouldn’t be complete without the most iconic Christmas campaign of all time (in our opinion). For many, Christmas simply hasn’t begun until you hear the whisper of “Holidays are coming, Holidays are coming”, followed by screeches of “THE COCA-COLA CHRISTMAS AD IS ON!” as the rest of the family thunders down the stairs to witness the festive delight together.
What’s particularly remarkable about this advert from a marketing perspective is Coca-Cola’s logo appears far more times than the word Christmas. In fact, the word Christmas doesn’t even appear once. All we see are red lorries and the image of a jolly man with a white beard and a red coat drinking the famous drink, and yet for most of us – the ad is as Christmassy as they come.
The fact that this ad has become so popular and is such a festive staple may well be down to its continuity. Appearing on our tellies since 1995, Coca-Cola has (thankfully!) never felt the need to modernise or update it. This gives us a reassurance that within the sea of brand Christmas adverts churned out every year, there is one we all know and love, that will hopefully be on our screens for a long time to come.

2. 1914 – Sainsbury’s
Unlike ‘Holidays Are Coming’ by Coca-Cola, Sainsbury’s logo only pops up right at the very last moment in their 2014 Christmas ad. That doesn’t make it any less memorable, however.
A real tear-jerker, this ad harks back to a historical moment during the Second World War, when both armies put their differences aside to engage in a festive football match.
Made in partnership with The Royal British Legion, this advert raised money through the sale of a chocolate bar for members and veterans of the armed forces, and their families.

3. Mistletoe – Yellow Pages
Celebrating its 30th birthday this year, the very sweet Mistletoe ad by Yellow Pages reminds us that you don’t need a huge budget to create a memorable Christmas campaign.
This lovely Christmas advert simply shows a little boy using the famous Yellow Pages book (oh, how we miss it!) to stand on to win a kiss from his crush.
