Youth Sport Trust

A suite of digital and printed parent communications for the national charity that transforms the lives of young people through sport and play.

When the Covid-19 pandemic meant schools closed, national children’s charity Youth Sport Trust found itself needing to communicate with a brand-new audience – parents.

After a series of early conversations which demonstrated how our vision for the project reflected exactly what they were seeking, we were appointed as Youth Sport Trust’s Family Engagement Partner.

The aim of this new series of communications was to grow the charity’s parents and family network through three key principles: engage with resources and content; connect with others and campaigns; support the mission of the charity.

We were tasked with creating a range of materials including a digital newsletter for parents, a series of resources to support families in encouraging their children to be physically active, and launching a brand new digital magazine for parents to share information, inspiration and insight.

Using Youth Sport Trust’s new brand guidelines, we created a range of bright, engaging, accessible resources. These included planners, certificates, active board games, garden games, personal challenges and other fun activities – all tied together with clear, clean branding and design.

The digital newsletter we created was designed to be engaging, short and snappy, quickly directing parents to the resources as well as some of the charity’s wider work.

We wrote and designed the brand-new, eye-catching digital magazine for parents, #Together, in order to break away from a corporate look and feel and instead be more lifestyle themed with subtle branding. The combination of news, features, resources and advice with clear calls to action means the magazine offers real value to its audience.

" The team at Bright Media understood our vision and with their fresh, vibrant thinking, evolved it further. They challenged our thinking, presented innovative new ideas and together we have developed really exciting concepts to take us forward. Their positivity, reliability and ability to work at pace made them a real pleasure to work with
